Where in the world the stories come from

One bar per region. Bar length is how many indexed cases come from there. The fill along the bar is how many of them actually put a revenue number on the table. Region comes from the source community when the source is a regional one, and otherwise from the author saying where they are — never from guessing.

Most cases do not say where the person is. Of indexed cases, can be placed on this chart and cannot. That is not a gap in the extractor — it is what the sources contain. of the index comes from Hacker News, and HN authors almost never state a location anywhere machine-readable.

So read this chart as "where we can prove a story came from", not "where AI money happens". A short bar means we could not place those cases, not that the region is quiet. Guessing a location from a country name in the text was tried and rejected: the UK ruling and SaaS for US clients are not where the author lives.
