← The AI Money Index · industry map
One bar per region. Bar length is how many indexed cases come from there. The fill along the bar is how many of them actually put a revenue number on the table. Region comes from the source community when the source is a regional one, and otherwise from the author saying where they are — never from guessing.
Most cases do not say where the person is. Of — indexed cases, — can be placed on this chart and — cannot. That is not a gap in the extractor — it is what the sources contain. — of the index comes from Hacker News, and HN authors almost never state a location anywhere machine-readable.
So read this chart as "where we can prove a story came from", not "where AI money happens". A short bar means we could not place those cases, not that the region is quiet. Guessing a location from a country name in the text was tried and rejected: the UK ruling and SaaS for US clients are not where the author lives.
